Which Is The Best Visa Program For Indians To Get Permanent Residency In Canada?
Is it your dream to live, work and settle down in Canada?
You should choose your options carefully, as the right immigration program will enhance your chances of being successful in your Canada immigration application. Canada uses a point-based immigration system and if you have a good point score and select the most appropriate program as per your profile, your application will be positively considered. Here are some tips to get you started on the right pathway!
The best Canada immigration program for Indians
Considering past statistics, most Indians were successful in gaining immigration to Canada through the Federal Express Entry System. In fact in 2018, over 39,600 Indians have achieved Permanent Residency in Canada by choosing this route. When compared to the previous year when only 26,300 odd Indians obtained permanent residency, this represented a significant upsurge in numbers.
So, what is the Express Entry system?
It is a point-based selection system for skilled workers seeking permanent residency in Canada that is considered the fastest way of getting a Canada PR invitation. Part of an economic immigration program in Canada, this pathway allows people to submit a profile and be considered as a skilled immigrant, and those with the highest rankings are invited to apply for permanent residency. If you wish to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry system, you must register your profile and submit EOI in the EE System.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Selection of the Express Entry candidates is based on points awarded to them via the Comprehensive Ranking System, and selected profiles are moved into the Express Entry pool. The CRS is based on your skills, education, language ability, work experience, and a few other factors. Top-ranked candidates in the pool are invited by the Canadian government or IRCC(Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) to apply for permanent residency. The Express Entry draw is usually conducted every fortnight to invite the candidates to apply.
The Provincial Nominee Program
While the Express Entry is a federal program, the PNP or Provincial Nominee Programs are operated by different provinces of Canada in collaboration with the federal government. Different provincial immigration programs are allocated annual nomination quotas by the Federal Government or IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). PNPs then invite, select and nominate skilled and talented overseas applicants for permanent residency in Canada, from the nomination quota.
Which pathway is right for you?
To get in via the Express Entry program, candidates must have a high point score. On the other hand, the Provincial programs can nominate them even with a relatively low point score and the process requirements are also slightly relaxed.
The Express Entry aligned stream of a PNP is a popular route among immigration applicants. It helps to increase the CRS point score of an applicant, and this subsequently aids applicants in getting a Canada PR Invitation from IRCC through express entry.
Either of these pathways can help you to obtain PR visa in Canada. If you are still unsure which route to opt for, or wish to explore further so that you can better your chances of obtaining Canadian PR, do connect with a reputed Canada immigration consultant.
